The brand serves cultural heritage enthusiasts and creatively driven individuals who are disillusioned by fast fashion and crave deeper meaning in what they wear. Launching Oni Threads with no savings, loans, or capital was Aliké’s biggest challenge. Sky’s the Limit changed that when she won his first-ever grant—$2,500 through the Friends & Family Fund in March. That funding legitimized the business, allowed him to manufacture her first products, and paved the way for a sold-out launch.

Through Sky’s the Limit pitch practices and networking events, Aliké refined her brand story and built confidence as a founder. The skills she developed directly led to future wins, including a $500 prize at the Accenture Cincinnati Pitch Competition. Alongside that, mentorship from Sheila Stinson provided the financial guidance needed to ensure Oni Threads grows on a solid foundation.

Today, Oni Threads is a revenue-generating brand with a loyal customer base and a clear path to growth.
