FOUNDER, SHULOVESREBELS

Cameron Cox
about my business:
ShuLovesRebels | Atlanta, GA

Cameron Cox is the Founder of ShuLovesRebels (SLR), a fashion house that curates alternative lifestyles to heal — featuring high quality ethically sourced products while supporting communities and artisans worldwide. ShuLovesRebels is intentional, ethical and designed to minimize its waste and carbon footprint on the planet.

According to Business Insider, fashion production makes up 10% of humanity’s carbon emissions and 85% of all textiles can be found at the dump each year, many of which are not biodegradable. Cameron wants to change that through ShuLovesRebels, and he's taking it to the next level with the fashion house by creating a private community to help nurture the next generation of young leaders globally. He also wants ShuLovesRebels to be remembered for the quality of products it delivers, not the waste it leaves behind. That's why its products are handmade to order and crafted with the highest quality, ethically sourced materials. Its team works closely with SEDEX Members Ethical Trade Audit (SMETA), responsible for maintaining ethical global supply chain practices to ensure that his employees lead healthy, safe and dignified lives.

Additionally, it's preferred suppliers provide ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX®️ certified ink and STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®️ certified material. And the handmade products are in 100% recycled packaging, certified by the FSC, an organization that promotes environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable management of the world’s forests. Plus, its designer shoes are crafted in Le Marche, Italy – also known as “The Shoe Valley” – are handcrafted by a network of selected Italian artisans, using pristine Italian leather or suede and in some cases organic canvas, special materials, prints, limited edition textiles and cruelty free vegan leathers.

BUSINESS MENTORING STORY:

Through Sky's the Limit platform, Cameron benefited from the experience and expertise of two mentors from Accenture: Edwin Valentin and Alex Veseliy. As a volunteer for Sky's the Limit since November 2020, Edwin loves to hear the vision of new entrepreneurs and help to structure thoughts, prioritize and improve and strengthen business plans and financials. Alex Veseliy is working as a Software Application Developer and writing PhD Thesis on Computer Vision. He utilizes his experience both in commercial and non-commercial startups to support entrepreneurs.

Cameron worked with Edwin Valentin and Alex Veseliy on building some of the core elements in growing his business. Building off of his passion for helping new entrepreneurs to structure, prioritize and create business plans, Edwin and Cameron came together to develop his business plan, laying the foundation for his business. Alex pulled from his experience working with start ups and his software engineering background to support Cameron in accomplishing his vision for his product.

  • "Edwin Valentin and Alex Veseliy mentored me which helped make my business operations and product very clear to me. Also, the process I needed to create my product."

  • "Alex helped me with learning the process of creating my application and gave me resources to execute."

The information his mentors gave him are processes he still uses in his own business today. Cameron's company went from looking for a developer to offering the service of designing and developing websites and apps for his clients. Because of the clarity he received, sales doubled and possibly tripled because he offers new services and receives new prospects daily. Since February 2023, 2 out of 3 prospects become a customer.

Through working with mentors, Cameron was able to accomplish ten milestones, which earned trust from his target audience. "I worked hard to prove my worth in business, so my customers could know I am providing them value," said Cameron. He has used Sky's the Limit daily, since he started taking his business seriously in 2022.

The 1 challenge he had to face was himself. Cameron forced himself to face "fears", and now he doesn't feel challenged if he's not scared.
