How to Apply for Sky's the Limit Business Grants

This project guide helps two Sky’s the Limit members work together through three meetings as they collaborate identify and apply for grants from Sky’s the Limit.

Meeting 1: Review Sky’s the Limit Funding Options

Before this meeting:

In this meeting:

  • Discuss why you need the funding and what you will do with it.

After this meeting:

  • Create a list of what you would use the funding for, and start to gather cost estimates.

Meeting 2: Create a grant statement and budget

Before this meeting:

In this meeting:

  • Review your line-by-line  budget and “Use of Funds”

  • Create your Elevator Pitch: Explain the value your business has for your customers. What problem does it solve?

  1. Review the requirements for your Pitch Video and create an outline.

After this meeting:

  • Practice talking through your outline and time yourself.

  • Record your pitch video and send it to your mentor or advisor for feedback.

  • Re-record if needed.

  • Note any agreed-upon next steps.

Meeting 3: Create your pitch video and submit

Before this meeting:

  • Review: Previous Grant Winners

  • Update all sections of your Funding Pitch and save them.

  • Look for a nice, high rez photo that represents you or your business.

In this meeting:

  • Review your Funding Pitch together.

  • Add you cover photo in the last section of your Funding Pitch

  • If everything looks good, hit submit! The Sky’s the Limit Member Experience team will review your Funding Pitch. Once it’s approved you’ll be entered into any Funding Round you’re eligible for and be able to start gaining votes from other members.

After this meeting:

  • Tell any Sky’s the Limit member that you’ve worked with about your Funding Pitch and ask them if they’d like to vote for you.

  • Check out additional ways you can get votes.
